TOUR OPTIONS:

Return (round-trip) or one-way Skyrail experience departing from Smithfield (Cairns) Terminal or Kuranda Terminal.

START LOCATION:

Smithfield (Cairns) Terminal: 6 Skyrail Drive, Smithfield.

For guests in Cairns, Beaches or Port Douglas you will start your experience at the Smithfield (Cairns) Terminal.

Kuranda Terminal: Arara Street, Kuranda.

For guests in Kuranda or on the Atherton Tablelands you will start your experience at the Kuranda Terminal.

GETTING HERE:

Drive yourself or book a bus transfer from Cairns City. Bus transfers are not available for Kuranda departures.

 

TIMINGS:

  •  One-way Skyrail: 1 ½ hours

  •  Return: 2 ½ hours

  •  Kuranda Village: 2-3 hours

BUS TRANSFERS

  • Available from selected Cairns City  locations only.

Skyrail Terms and Conditions

  • Local residents are eligible for 20% discount on Skyrail experiences booked DIRECTLY through Skyrail Reservations, ph 07 4038 5555 or email reservations@skyrail.com

  • Residents residing in Cairns Regional Council, Tablelands Regional Council, Cassowary Coast Regional Council, Douglas Shire Council or Mareeba Shire Council areas.

  • Local discounts are offered on both one-way Skyrail experience or a Skyrail round-trip journey.

  • Proof of local residency is required and local photo ID must be sited upon check-in for all adult passengers.

  • Skyrail is cashless. Payment is required at the time of booking. 

  • Regarding packaging with the train: Skyrail’s local discount cannot be extended for travelling with Kuranda Scenic Railway. If you are seeking a local’s discount for the Train you will need to book that portion of your day directly the owners and operators of the train, Queensland Rail Travel.  For more information on their local policy.   • No further discounts are applied.

  • 24 hour booking notice is required, and due to a high demand please allow minimum 24-hour response time walk-in bookings will not be accepted.

  • Please be aware we cannot combine family package & locals discount together. The discount is offered to each individual passenger.

  • Please note that parties travelling together But booked separately may not be seated together when including the train or buses.

  • All dates are subject to availability –if not available closest travel date will be secured & advised in confirmation.

  • Payment methods, Pay on confirmation, VISA / MASTERCARD /AMEX only. Skyrail is cashless.

  • Full Payment is required to confirm your booking. You will receive an email from a Skyrail Reservations agent with an attached payment link to secure credit card payment. Seats / bookings can only be held for 24 hours, without full payment, all unpaid bookings will auto-release.

  • Adult tickets are required for all passengers 15 years & over.

  • Children under 4 years old will need to be added to your booking as infants as they will require a boarding pass. However, they are free of charge. Please advise at time of booking if you are planning to bring a Pram.

  • Upgrades such as Diamond View - availability is limited.

  • Local Photo ID is required at ticket collection, or full rates will apply.

Enjoy a unique and unimpeded perspective straight down to the tropical rainforest canopy with Skyrail’s glass floor Diamond View gondola.

​

Diamond View guests enjoy dedicated Diamond View only boarding queues, and Diamond View gondolas depart the platforms every 7 minutes (approximately).

​

Diamond View gondolas seat a maximum of 5 people (including infants) and is available on a one-way, per-person basis only. Return and family rates do not apply. Bookings are made on a per seat basis only and you may share a gondola with other guests.
